Allergy or Covid Symptoms

Spring is in full swing and many of us are enjoying it... I know I am. The warm temperatures and sunshine aren't only bringing more people outside, it's also bringing out pollen in trees and flowers.

The start of spring also means the beginning of seasonal allergies and some are wondering if they can have Covid-19 and allergies and the answer is yes.

Simon says "the problem is the symptoms of a mild case of covid can be similar to either allergies or the common cold and especially if your young and healthy and you might have a milder case".

Simon says it's important to continue following the cdc guidelines because there's no way of knowing whether someone is vaccinated.

"But you have no way of knowing if when you're out in the public at the grocery store if everyone around you has been vaccinated but when you're out in public okay and when you don't know the vaccination status of those your around i would pretend that it's sill april of last year".

Fever, chills, body aches, loss of taste and smell and shortness of breath are all covid 19 symptoms.
Cough, headaches, and fatigue are symptoms for both allergies and the coronavirus... whereas sneezing, itching and watery eyes are a result of allergies.

I spoke with Dionte Franklin and he suffers from seasonal allergies, and says it's hard to know the difference between covid and allergy symptoms.

Dionte Franklin says "my allergies just kicked in because it's springtime and pollination and stuff like that my car is covered in it so it's something im going to just have to deal with".

Healthcare professionals say until 80 percent of the population has been vaccinated, it's important to continue wearing masks and social distancing.
