A couple right here in Acadiana lost their full-time jobs prior to and during the pandemic, but now they’ve persevered and created their own photography business.

Kirstin and David Hebert lost their full-time jobs right before the pandemic. The Acadiana couple says now they’re living their American dream through their own camera lens and "now there's no going back," David Hebert said.

Kirstin Herbert said, “everything was shut down so that was a little bit scary."

What was once a part-time hobby for them is now a full-fledged photography business. “We can't imagine doing anything else, honestly, this is it, I couldn't imagine going back to a 9-5,” said David Hebert

In the midst of starting their business full-time, they begin homeschooling their kids due to the pandemic. "We were a little bit scared because we never homeschooled before," said Kirstin.

David added that "we tied into our philosophy of kind of just rolling with it and by that point, it was nothing that we could do just try to look at the positive side of it and incorporate that into our lives. It's like a good thing instead of a bad thing, instead of worrying about it.”

However, through the ups and downs, the covid-19 pandemic has taught this power couple one thing and that is “to never stop going, keep the ball rolling, never stop, stop believing and everything will work out, just take one step at a time," they both added.
