Absentee ballot request deadline for April 24 election Tuesday

The deadline to return a completed absentee ballot is Friday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m.

BATON ROUGE, La. (KADN) - The Louisiana Secretary of State's Office is reminding voters that the deadline to request an absentee ballot is April 20 at 4:30 p.m. for the election on April 24.

Requests can be made online at this link. Voters should then select "Request Absentee Ballot."

People can also request an absentee ballot in person at their parish registrar of voters office.

Those who have requested but not received an absentee ballot can check the ballot status here and entering the requested information.

The deadline to return a completed absentee ballot is Friday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m.

Complete ballots should be returned to the parish registrar of voters office by mail or in-person by the voter or the voter's immediate family member.

If a person requested an absentee ballot, but was unable to complete and return in by deadline, that person may still vote in-person on Election Day.
