Abbeville man arrested following 'shots fired' incident

The investigation led officers to securing a search warrant for Briggs' residence.

ABBEVILLE, La. (KADN) - A man is facing charges following a shots fired call in Abbeville Wednesday night.

Tavis Briggs of Abbeville is charged with illegal use of weapons and obstruction of justice.

According to the Abbeville Police spokesman, officers were called to the 1700 block of Israel Parker Drive about 5:30 p.m.

The investigation led officers to securing a search warrant for Briggs' residence.

APD said the incident is still being investigated and more arrests are expected.
