Abbeville Man Arrested On One Count of Attempted Second Degree Murder

Landry was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder.

ABBEVILLE, La. - According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Public Information Officer Eddie Langlinais, on August 8, 2021, at approximately 11:27 PM, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible shooting incident located on South Airport Road near Jacqulyn Street near Abbeville.

Upon arrival, Deputies found a victim in the ditch with wounds consistent of a gunshot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect was identified as Troy Anthony Landry of Abbeville. Landry was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
