Family of Four Home Destroyed After Early Morning Fire

The Carencro Fire Department responded to a report of a residential fire in the 100 block of Simon Latour Road around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, April 15.

According to Fire Chief David Mouton, the Carencro Fire Department responded to a report of a residential fire in the  100 block of Simon Latour Road around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, April 15. Upon arrival, the residence was completely on fire. Additional units from Lafayette, Scott, Prairie, and Cankton fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire. The home’s occupants – two adults, a child, and a toddler – escaped the fire without injury. One person was examined on-scene by Acadian Ambulance as a precaution. Investigators from Lafayette Fire Department are working to determine the cause of the fire.
