40 Grams of Suspected Methamphetamine Obtained During Routine Traffic Stop

During the stop, a search of the vehicle yielded over 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, U.S. currency, and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies with Iberia Parish Sheriffs Office Patrol Division conducted a routine traffic stop in the Coteau Road area of Highway 90 on Sunday, October 17th, 2021. During the stop, a search of the vehicle yielded over 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, U.S. currency, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, Brye Segura, 28 years old was arrested and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the following charges:

LA RS 32:79 Improper lane usage

LA RS 32:104 Failure to signal

LA RS 32:415 Driving under suspension

LA RS 40:966C Possession of schedule I (marijuana)

LA RS 40:967A.1 Possession with intent to distribute schedule II (methamphetamine)

LA RS 40:1041 Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses

LA RS 40:982 Second or subsequent offense

Brye Segura is currently being held in Iberia Parish Jail with a bail set at $44,000.00.
