3K in Narcotics Seized; Man Arrested in Drug Bust

The St. Landry Parish Narcotics Team received information of drug sales and activity in the 1100 block of Cherry Street inside the city limits of Opelousas.

OPELOUSAS, La. - The St. Landry Parish Narcotics Team received information of drug sales and activity in the 1100 block of Cherry Street inside the city limits of Opelousas. After countless hours of surveillance, a search warrant was obtained.

On October 22, 2021, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Team along with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed the search warrant and located the following items:

· Approximately 11 grams of suspected Fentanyl powder;

· Hand rolled cigar, containing suspected marijuana;

· Digital scale containing residue;

· Assorted drug paraphernalia; and

· Approximately $10,544.00 in U.S. currency.

The street value of the narcotics seized is approximately $3,000.

“My narcotic agents are on the streets making St. Landry Parish a safer place to live and raise our children. We will continue to combat illegal drugs in our parish,” stated Sheriff Guidroz.
