Sheriff Blaise Smith announced the date for the next "Women's Street Survival Class."

"The statistics on violent crimes against women are staggering. These are crimes that are committed against our wives, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, and sisters. Here at the Sheriff's Office, we want to provide women with the knowledge and basic tools needed to avoid becoming a statistic. That's why we have been offering our Women's Street Survival Class." -Sheriff Blaise Smith

The Women's Street Survival Class incorporates classroom instruction, basic defensive tactics, and of course, the ever-popular opportunity to "fight the man in the padded suit" that is a chance to put into practice some of those tactics in a safe and controlled atmosphere.

The next class is planned for this Saturday morning, March 27, 2021, from 9 am-11:30 am.

TO REGISTER: Send your name and phone number to the St. Marish Parish Sheriff's Office here on Facebook in a private message. The first 20 ladies that sign up will be taken. The St. Mary Sheriff's Office will update the post when the class is full.

IMPORTANT: The class is recommended for ages 16 and up.
